Paul Kearns is a packaging veteran with over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and product development. In his current business development role with BASF, Paul works to bring sustainable solutions to the packaging industry.
After serving in the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Service, Paul began his packaging career with International Paper in Menasha, WI. Soon after, he pursued a strategic marketing opportunity with Union Camp Corp at their headquarters. Following a divestiture, he became a key contributor for Exopack, one of North America’s premier flexible packaging providers. In 2015, Paul joined BASF, a global leader in sustainability, to help connect the value chain to zero waste and beyond.
A staunch supporter of sustainability, Paul has been very active with the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, the Flexible Packaging Association and Walmart’s Sustainable Value Network (SVN). He helped to start the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and worked to assemble the Sustainable Packaging Indicators and Metrics Framework that was published in 2009. In addition, he was a contributing member of the team that helped set the Resource Recovery strategies for the Flexible Packaging Association.
Most recently, Paul has had a unique opportunity to bring zero waste solutions to closed venues. He is looking forward to sharing his learnings from the trenches.
